Young Scientists Student Team Selection

Places were available to UK and British school students aged 16 or over. In each country, the standard of applicant was extremely high; in the UK more than 90 excellent applications were received for 30 places available, while in Japan nearly 50 applications were received. No more than two places were in general available to students from any one school. Young Scientists will work in small project teams in the areas, listed on the projects page.

Two thirds of the applications in each country were from young women.

Recruitment of Students was organised

in the UK by Clifton Scientific Trust in association with the University of Bristol Widening Participation Office
in Japan by the Council of Chemistry Education (Chemical Society of Japan) in association with The Society of Biological Sciences Education of Japan, The Physics Education Society of Japan and The Japan Society of Earth Science Education, following guidelines agreed with Clifton Scientific Trust
